Surf to Turf

Surf to Turf 

Last Wednesday we did surf to turf, surf to turf is a organised event done by our school. 

We ran from the Wiamak river to our school 5.1k, This was very fun and at the end of the race we did activity's like tyer flipping, sit up challenge, chicken net crawl and plank challenge.

Then we got a special ice block treat and hot dogs. :)

At school we have been doing art for a exhibition In our class we did eyeballs but in the iris we drew our futer i drew a mountain and a and a blossom tree because I want to live in the mountains when im older with a beautiful view.

This term we are reading 3 brothers and the polar bear, we had to do a story map explaining what that story said I really liked making it.

The invisible Man

Everyday he had lived out his normal life, get up, have breakfast, have a shower and get dressed but today was different. He went to spoonful the pasty white goo of porridge into his mouth, but then he stopped and dropped his spoon on the the floor it clanged loudly, he grasped his chest and pain and fell onto the floor his mouth went dry, his lungs burst out in thumping pain like two over filled balloons, his arms went numb and lifeless he scurried to the mirror he knew this was happening but not this soon he needed to find her. He grabbed a hammer and smashed the glass box labeled just in case early, from there he grabbed a backpack filled with canned food, canned water and a canned torch he headed for the door. goodbye old life.

Slushies

On Thursday Jemma and I made Moroccan mint slushies for my inquiry. They were really good and we loved them, maybe try it with your family in the holidays. photos coming soon.

Week 9 DLO

The right side of your heart receives oxygen poor blood from your veins and pumps it to your lungs, where it picks up oxygen and dumps off the carbon dioxide. The left side of your heart gets oxygen rich blood from your lungs and pumps it through your arteries to the rest of your body.

DLO of Pig heart boy

This is my DLO of the first two chapters of pig heart boy

Cam is a boy who has heart problems. He wishes he could be normal and do normal things, like swimming and holding his breath underwater, all his other friends go swimming and have a good time but he can't because he can’t hold his breath underwater for longer than a few seconds. He lies to his parents by going to the swimming pool with his friends instead of being at his friends house and his friend Marlon worries about him a lot. Marlon has dark green eyes and is a bit annoying sometimes Cam gets frustrated with him because he worries too much.

Bonfire

Yesterday we had a bonfire at my auntys house it was really cool and fun. Me and my cousins sat outside in the dark and took heaps of photos and some of them looked like faces here are some.

Nelson

Yesterday I went to Nelson with my Nan and my Nan's friend, it was really fun because we did so much shopping. We went to Kmart, The warehouse and the mall I bought a giraffe plant and some presents for my friends. After that we went to MacDonalds and drove past my old house and the drove home.  

Gibsons Beach

On Wednesday I went to Gibsons beach, it was so beautiful there,  There are a lot of waterfalls, the stones that have been brushed by the water so much the make a cool looking pathway. One of things you can do there is find a lot of crystals and greenstone, I found a rose quarts and a smokey quarts I did not find any greenstone though. We took my crystals to our next door neighbor who used to find gold so he told me about all the stones I found.

My cousin

Last night my cousin cam for a sleepover at my Nans house, she is only 2 so she had to go to bed early but she didn't want to . We had meatloaf for diner with mash potato,carrots and silver beet. Then for desert we had pineapple lump ice cream in a cone and watched frozen 2.    

Gibbys Cafe

Today me and my Nan went to Gibbys cafe, we go there everyday and I get a drink and my Nan gets a coffee. Today not many people were there witch was good because we could sit somewhere and not be 2 meters apart, we got a scone aswell. sorry no photos there will be some tomorrow :) 

My Letter

Dear Jacinda Arden, I am writing this letter to you to say you are doing a wonderful job as PM. Here is my problem I would like to address, the school pool is to cold, and I think I speak for most people in saying we should get heater for the pool. We can do this by raising money and talking to Sheldon park people at the council.

Face time!!!!

Its always good to keep in touch with your family and friends especially in this time. I have been face timing my Nan,aunty and my uncle and aunty, how have you been keeping in touch?

Mothers Day Crafts

On Sunday its Mothers day so I have been doing some mothers day crafts, even though this is a different mothers day we can still have fun making stuff.
I made a card for my mum and my dad brought some chocolate. I am not going to show photos until mothers day because i dont want to show spoilers, comment what you have mad or are making for your mum. 

Drive

Today me, dad and my brother went on a dive to the river but when we got there it was closed so we tried to get in a different way, we did end up seeing the river bat it was quite boring so we drove out to all these different paces like the old freezer works the cemetery and the meat works.

Sewing

I have been doing sewing this kinda counts as technology as i would of been
in sewing by now. I made 3 pillows, 2 bags and a pin Cushion, they were really fun to make and I would really like to keep doing sewing as it keep me busy for a while. Making the bags were really hard but they look so good and the pillows were easy to make. sorry there are no photos.

My Dog Ellie

Friday 24 April

This is my dog Ellie also know as pup pup dog, she is a poodle cross bichon her favourite things to do are chew stuff and chew some more stuff. When we first got her she ate one of a dining room chairs like the hole leg no joke, she also had a problem with her bladder due to her dad, this ment she was always doing tiny drops of pee everywhere, luckily we got her fixed almost a year ago and she is all better now.

Spelling

Yesterday I did word lab in my room, I chose 12 words and wrote them out, then I wrote them in rainbow letters and the I wrote them backwards and forwards. 

The Starry Night

April 17 2020 (DAY 24)

The Starry Night is a oil on canvas painting done by Vincent van Gogh. It was painted in June 1889 it describes a view from the east-facing window of his asylum room.Vincent  admitted himself to Saint-Paul-de-mausole lunatic asylum on the 23 of December 1888 after self mutilation of his left ear.

 Vincent brother theo received letters from his brother telling him he thought that The Starry Night was a failure, but if her were here today he would see how wrong his is now people gather from every where to see this wonderful painting. Fun fact the brightest star in the painting is not a star at all it is Venus, astronomers look at the time it was painted and Venus was in that spot whilst he painted it.

 van Gogh had mental issues he suffered from Depression and epilepsy, due to his epilepsy van Gogh saw colours differently hence why the painting has such a unique palet, and thats why the stars and the moon have such a bright yellow as he would of seen it as a suttle yellow.   

Fitness

April 17 2020 (DAY 24)

I have been doing fitness with my brother, we really like doing the 

jump jams in the lounge his favourite one is who let the dogs out.

it gets us up and about, we also tried doing the spider man challenge that was so hard, but if we keep practising we will be able to do it at the end of the lock down. 

Movie Day!!!!!

April 17 2020 (DAY 24) 

Yesterday I had a movie day, this is a great idea because it is getting cold now so it is always nice to snuggle up with you favourite blanket and whatch your favourite move. My favourite movies are Disney ones because they always have a happy ending.

Soaps

Today I made soaps, they were so easy to make  and I had fun making them. They smell so good and and they are easy to use. 

I am about to make another batch of them out of a different type of soap. 

My Turtle

Hey guys I have been playing around with my turtle 

Gavin and teaching him some new tricks. He likes it when 

I feed him by hand and when I tip fresh water into his tank, he 

tries to get under the water so it splashes on his face.

 But he  is a bitter so I have to be careful, even though he has no 

teeth he still munches down hard. I have been looking up tutorials on how to train them but he does not really understand maybe on day he will get it. 

Origami

Today I have been making origami, I started making 

a box but it failed so I tried a different one and it worked.

I tried to find some Easter ones but most of them were really 

hard so I stuck with easy ones, I also made a goody bag and a mini book.

Pumpkin Soup 🍲

April 2 2020 (DAY 8)

Today me and my Dad made pumpkin soup 

together. First Dad chopped the pumpkin up 

and put it into the pot, then I diced two onions 

and put them in to. We added Cumin, curry powder 

and finishing it off with coconut cream. YUM!!

Duathlon

19.3.20 Thursday 19th March


Yesterday it was years 5 to 8 duathlon day. We budded up with someone from our syndicate. Since it was a duathlon it was only running and biking. First the runners ran around the field then tag the bikers, then the bikers did two laps on there bikes, after that the bikers came back and tag the runners then  they did another two laps .We all tried our best and some people  from our class placed.

Kereru Week 4

This week in kereru group we have been looking at how committing a crime was different in the 1800s and how they did not have the technology that we have now day. We also have better equipment like DNA test and fingerprint tests. We also got to press our finger on a ink pad to see what type of finger print we had.
